Exaggerated Facial Features

The students have created some interesting 3-D ART using their imagination and plasticine. The goal was to clearly exaggerate a facial feature emphasizing that we all have flaws that make us unique. Uniqueness & diversity of all living things! Here, here!

An Honoured Guest Arrives In Our Class & Due Dates

We enjoyed learning from our guest artist, Michael Price, who shared some amazing carvings with us. He discussed the skills and tools needed for his aboriginal art and we watched him begin to carve gracefully. The final product will be a cedar owl plaque for our school. Furthermore, all grade six students had the opportunity to braid wet cedar into rope segments.

Ask your child where he is from and what else they learned from Michael.

 - Among The Barons - we currently read 3 chapters per day with follow-up reading response learning activities to test comprehension and expand/analyze the ideas within the novel.

- last week we studied 'a-e' to 'u-e' patterns in spelling

Decimals - reading, interpreting, rounding to the nearest thousandths, adding & subtracting decimals

- Extreme Environments: lessons, video clips, discussions, and concept building.

- keep reading and re-reading the criteria sheets and planning pages to make sure you are reaching the learning outcomes listed
