Writing
- learning how to convince readers... topic this week is "Should a grade six student be allowed an 'electronic device' (ipod-touch, ipad, computer, cell phone,...) in their own room?"

- greater focus on paragraphing, format, self-editing
Word Work
- advancements to the next level of personal growth in spelling
- be sure to ask your child about the words they are currently working with
- test every Friday until June!

*Finish your Memory Stick - it's due this Friday at 2:50pm after art class. All index cards need to be attached to your stick.

Welcome to Room# 10…
Grade 6
This is an official welcome to students and parents.
It’s time to start school and we will commence the year with positive energy, new and familiar faces, new goals, and new expectations.
Class Expectations...
Ÿ About 20min to 60 min of homework (most nights)
Ÿ Be prepared each day with the appropriate learning materials
Ÿ Work is legible, neat, complete, and handed-in for grading on time
Ÿ Work toward a positive “growth mindset”
Ÿ Participate in all areas of the curriculum to the best of your ability
