Language Arts - We have finished our novels that we started November 1st!

~ Writing focus on improving our sentences - we are working at increasing our accuracy when we communicate in writing and using sensory imagery writing techniques.

 Writing

 SHOWING VS TELLING SAMPLES

Sensory Imagery Writing

Sensory details allow the reader to put themselves into your writing mentally by forming a picture in his/her mind. Without sensory details, the reader becomes bored and cannot emotionally connect to the story.

Sensory details include words that describe sights, sounds, textures, smells, and sometimes tastes of the setting, characters, and interactions.

Directions: Write powerful, image-creating sentences by looking at the image of your BIOME and adding sensory details. Make up additional details to construct new sentences.

………………………………………………

Mission Possible!

Your mission, which you must choose to accept, is this…

~Your writing begins with you exploring your biome (scene) that you selected. You will describe many parts with plenty of detail and near the end you realize that you are lost!

~Make the reader feel part of your writing!

………………………………………………………………………………………

I know you can do this!
