May 1 - ... Field Trip - Survival Skills at Wildhorse River...

Bus leaves at 9:45am and returns around 2:30pm.

What to bring - dress for the weather, water bottle, lunch (extra snacks), proper footwear (no open-toed shoes or crocs).

May 5 & 6 -  Student-led conferences in our classroom! Early dismissal days - students are in school from 8:40 until noon. Conferences are from 12:50pm to 3pm.

 May 8 - HES track and field day at COTR 400 m track for all intermediate students (information went home last week).**There is not a back-up date!

***Bring your bike and helmet in good operating condition on our We Bike days. If you do not have a bike, let me know and the organizers will provide one and a helmet.

Criteria: Be A Perfect Person In Just Three Days!

 

Setting (where and when your story takes place… mainly)

- detailed enough to create an image in your head

- paints a clear picture with words.

 

Characters

- we gradually learn about all the characters, their personality,

   appearance, attitudes, relationships to other characters,

   BUT NOT ALL AT ONCE.

 

Events/Problem

- there is a clear problem in the story about being perfect or not

- the events flow in logical order without huge gaps.

 

Mechanics

- spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar use is accurate

- work is edited and revised (improved)

- less than five errors overall are expected after proofreading on our laptops.

  Published version is Due on Friday, May 22.

Health Ed - Healthy Eating, learning how to read food labels, and good overall nutrition as per the updated Canada Food Guide.  We will be having a luncheon of all healthy foods on Wednesday, May 13. Every student will be asked to bring in one or two items.
