We HAVE confirmation of 3 ski days at Kimberley Alpine Resort.
INFO GOING HOME THIS WEEK.
We have a great opportunity to offer
downhill skiing / snowboarding as part of our Physical Education program and
Daily Physical Activity for grade five & six students. It is our hope that all students from
participating classes will take part in this fun, lifelong, healthy, family
activity.
We
will be skiing / snowboarding at Kimberley Alpine Resort for three full days Feb. 14, Feb. 28 and March 7.

Ski Levels:
Level 1 – This is your very first time
skiing. Bunny Hill
Level 2 – You have skied a few times, but have
not quite mastered stopping or turning. Bunny
Hill
Level 3 – You have skied a few times and are
now starting to feel comfortable stopping and linking snowplow turns on green
runs.
Bunny Hill or T-Bar area.
Level 4 – Comfortable linking turns on
green and has experimented on blue runs, sometimes skiing parallel between
turns. Looking to gain more control and confidence while working towards
steeper blue runs. T-Bar or Chair Lift
Level 5 – Comfortable on green and blue runs,
skiing parallel most of the time. You
have also experimented on some black runs and off peist terrain (bumps, powder
& crud). Looking to gain more
control and confidence, while working towards steeper black and varied off
peist terrain. (bumps, power & crud).
Small jumps also are introduced if the client is interested.
Level 6 – Confident all over the resort while
skiing in all conditions on and off peist (bumps, powder & crud). Looking to build more control and confidence
while learning to ski more aggressively. More jumps or rail park progressions
may be introduced if the client is interested.
Snowboard Levels:
Level 1 - This is your first time snowboarding.
Bunny hill
Level 2 - You have boarded a few times,
comfortable on your heel edge but need to work on your toe edge. Bunny hill or t-bar
Level 3 - Comfortable on heel and toe edge but
need to work on changing between them (S turning). T-bar to limited or first
time chair experience
Level 4 – Comfortable turning both ways on
green runs. Looking to gain more control
and confidence to begin working onto the steeper blue runs.
Level 5 – Confident on greens and blue’s, and
have also experimented on some black runs.
Looking to learn some switch riding and get into a more aggressive style
of riding. Small jumps may also be learned here if client is interested.
Level 6 – Confident all over the hill, on and
off the groomed trails, switch or regular.
Looking to learn a more aggressive way to carve and attack the steeps
and bumps. Also possibly looking at different trick variations.
