We are studying...

Reading & Writing - half way through reading Among The Impostors
                               (book two of the Shadow Children series)
                              *daily reading response journal entries 
                              *six vocabulary words to study each week
                              *working on character & plot development 

                             - SSR (self-selected reading) Book Report
                              *reading to be completed by Jan. 23.
                              *Book Report presentations start January 30.

                             - learning about analogies, cause & effect,
                               and personification

                             - practicing our handwriting skills

Math - Geometry unit - angles: how to measure, classify, and draw
                                  - triangles: classifying them & interior and
                                    exterior angle theories 

Socials - Canadian Industries leading to exports / imports
            - "Canadian Identity" will be studied next

Science - "Beyond Recycling" program begins Wednesday with
                guest science teacher, Gillian Cooper
             - start Extreme Environments unit soon

HCE - the Canada Food Guide
         -reading & comparing food labels

PE - basketball - working on ball control, lay-ups, set shots,
                           rules, fouls, and strategies

French - integrated with technology to form simple sentences

Music - drama games and then ukulele
