What's going on in our class...

Reading
 - Short stories - theme is expect the unexpected with follow-up reading response learning activities to using SMART Learning strategies
- students reading SSR novels
- science EE reading for projects


Writing
- writing a letter to parents about locally grown, produced and purchased foods
- classifying items in our writing
- Hunger Games write-ups
- greater focus on peer and self-editing


Word Work
- advancements to the next level of personal growth in spelling
- be sure to ask your child about the words they are currently working with


Math
Fractions - improper fractions to mixed numbers and vise-versa
               - equivalent fractions
               - showing n/d on a # line

HCE
Healthy Relationships  - topic one... what to do about the various forms of peer pressure- influences of friends on behaviour (positive and negative peer pressure)
- definitions and consequences of stereotyping and discrimination (e.g., limits choices, makes unfair assumptions about people’s abilities and needs, feelings of shame or depression)


PE
