Reading - new novel study begins - 10 days to read it; 10 days for post-reading activity
               - self-selected novels
               - with 7 journal entries and a focus on character traits, settings, events, and vocabulary.

Writing - focused on note-taking, organization, and neatness
              - activities in concurrence with novel study and socials
