September 9 - Evacuation Practice - 1:30 

September 18 -   LAST DAY TO BRING IN PHOTOS FOR MEMORY STICK PROJECT.

September - 19 - PRO-D DAY - no school for kids.

September 23 - Individual Photos 

September 23 - Paarlauf  RELAY RACES - for grade 4, 5, 6 girl and boy teams - at Laurie Middle School - 3:30 to 4:30. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from this event.

September 25 - Evacuation Practice - 11:00

September 25 - Open House! 5:00 - 6:00.

 September 26 - The Terry Fox Walk / Run - whole school participates at different times
                       -Bring in a toonie (or more) ASAP and support cancer research!
                       - We have a collection container in our class

September  29 - Orange shirt day
                       - in support of positive aboriginal voices and
                         education about residential schools

September 30 - NATIONAL TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION DAY - no school.

October 3 - FIELD TRIP - to Creston Valley Discovery / Wildlife Center - to learn the hows and whys about bird migration. Please return permission forms ASAP.  

Bring: Lunch, extra food, water bottle, and dress for the weather. APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR ONLY – NO OPEN-TOED SHOES, SANDALS, CROCS, … RUNNING SHOES OR HIKING SHOES OR RUBBER BOOTS ONLY. 

- Forms will go home 2 weeks in advance. 

~ $5 per child. 

The bus leaves at 8:40am so please be at school on time. Bus returns around 2:40pm.

INDEX Card 1 Front: Draw a self-portrait or bring in a recent photo of yourself on or BEFORE SEPTEMBER 18TH (a close-up is best). Back: List 5 words that describe you BEST. Use your best ‘Word ART’ skills to write/draw the 5 words in the most creative way you can. Make it colourful! (Examples: energetic, humorous, athletic, creative, brilliant, caring, responsible, trustworthy, loving, kind, friendly, punctual, flexible, hard-working, honest, …)  More examples:  artistic, respectful, focused, playful, optimistic, positive, active, confident, helpful, happy, bubbly, funny, cheerful, intelligent, smart, gullible, problem-solver, crafty, trustworthy, loving, kind, friendly, punctual, flexible, hard-working, generous,… the descriptors are endless!

Front: Draw a picture of you as a baby or bring in a baby photo of yourself as a baby on or BEFORE SEPTEMBER 18TH.                                        (From birth to 2 years old). Back: List your birth date at the top and write a very short baby story you want to share.

 

 

INDEX Card 3

Front: Draw a picture of yourself from ages 3 to 5 or bring in a photo of yourself age 3 to 5 on or BEFORE SEPTEMBER 18TH. Back: Write about an important event that happened in your life between the ages of 3 and 5.   Write “Important Event” at the top of your card.

 

INDEX Card 4

Front: Draw a picture of yourself learning something new from ages 6 to 7 or bring in a photo of yourself learning something new at the ages of 6 to 7 on or BEFORE SEPTEMBER 18TH. Back: Write about the front side of this card  - something new (that you could not do before) you were able to learn from the ages of 6 to 7.  ( 2 or 3 sentences).                         Write “Something New” at the top of this card.

 

INDEX Card 5 

Front: Draw a picture of yourself at your current age or bring in a photo of yourself doing your most favorite thing on or BEFORE SEPTEMBER 18TH! Back: Write about the front side of this card – you getting pure enjoyment doing your most favorite thing!  Write “My Favourite Thing” at the top of the page.

 

 On (or before) SEPTEMBER 18TH... please have all 5 photos at school so we can assemble and share our Memory Sticks.
