Setting (where and when your story takes place)
- detailed enough to create an image in
your head
- paints a clear picture with words.
Characters
- we gradually learn about all the
characters, their personality,
appearance, attitudes, relationships to other characters,
BUT NOT ALL AT ONCE.
Events
- there is a clear problem in the story
about being perfect or not
- the events flow in logical order
without huge gaps.
Mechanics
- spelling, capitals, punctuation,
grammar is powerful
- work is edited and revised (improved)
- less than five errors overall is
expected after proofreading.
