~ Feb 14th - VALENTINE'S DAY... Students may bring valentines for classmates. I'll give them all a class list.
~ Feb 16th - Heart-2-Heart Market at school - BRING MONEY IN INCREMENTS OF $1 IF YOU WANT.
NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING.
What is the Heart to Heart Market?
At Highlands School, we believe that local and global citizenship through
helping others is part of our identity.
Every class at HES will be making some type of art piece or craft. These items may be purchased in increments of one dollar.
Students will get to go ‘shopping’ at the Market, with ALL proceeds
going towards the ________ (to be announced).
~ Feb 16th - Family Dance in the evening hosted by the PAC!
Feb 17th and 20th - no school.
~ Feb 24th - Pink Shirt Day / anti-bullying day - wear a pink shirt if you have one.

Writing:
We are also working daily at proper letter formation, printing, and writing complete sentences. WATCH OUT FOR THOSE FLOATING LETTERS (g, j, p, q, y) because they are not supposed to float!
SOUND EFFECTS STORIES... LAST CHANCE TO HAND THEM IN ON MONDAY.
Students can access the portal and work on their stories if they need more time.
Instructions for typing out your story at your house.
1. Go to the 'sd5 portal' website. Click on 'utility links' at the top of the page.
2. Click on “Office 365.” Scroll down and click on "sign in."
3. Sign in using your # (the same # you use every day at school)... and email.
Example: 12345678@sd5.bc.ca
4. You are now in the portal! Your sound effects story will be there.
